According to East Coast Railway (ECoR) General Manager Vidya Bhusan, the Bhubaneswar Railway Station will be transformed into a world-class station, and construction will begin soon.
After checking the station on Friday, Bhusan disclosed this. As part of the development process, he took inventory of the various facilities and passenger amenities that would be necessary. He stated that a complete project report, as well as a construction plan and design, has been approved.
“The railway station will have airport-like modern facilities. The station will be developed with aesthetic lighting, improved signage, and improved passenger amenities including a waiting hall, station complex, restaurant, and shopping mall. More amenities will be provided to the travelling public.
Apart from this, the circulating area will also be developed and will be beautified. The drainage system will also be thoroughly addressed. More parking space will be provided near platform number six side,” he informed that the station will be developed with an approximate cost of Rs1075 crore.
“The project’s tender will be published shortly, and construction work will begin as planned. We’ve set a goal of finishing the project in two to three years,” Bhusan added.
The station will be one of the best in eastern India, and it will be built as a sophisticated commercial center, according to EcoR General Manager. He also asked people for suggestions and ideas on how to improve the aesthetics.
