With the union government firm on the ‘Agnipath’ recruitment scheme for the armed forces, the national bandh called by some organisations reportedly demanded to rollback of the plan.
A group of Congress leaders sit in at Jantar Mantar in Delhi protesting against the ‘Agnipath’ scheme. Some Youth Congress workers were detained after they blocked a train in Delhi, while there was traffic jams in some areas due to high security measures taken by the police.
A large number of passenger trains were reportedly cancelled today following protests.
In Madhya Pradesh four persons were arrested in Jabalpur for appealing the youths to gather at the railway station to protest against Agnipath recruitment scheme on June 19, 2022, according to the police.
They made the appeal through a social media group ‘Protest For Agnipath’ created on Whatsapp, the police said.
One Devansh created the group and made the other accused admin of it, the police said.
A case is registered against relevant sections of IPC in Ranjhi police station of Jabalpur.
