Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan participated in Bhagoriya festival of tribal community in Alirajpur on Monday. The Chief Minister also performed Bhagoriya dance with traditional tribal costumes. Chief Minister’s wife Sadhna Singh was also present.
Chouhan toured the city in an open jeep and accepted the greetings of the citizens. During this, a large number of villagers wearing traditional costumes were walking in front of the vehicle while performing Bhagoriya dance on the beats of Dhol-Mandal.
Chouhan also addressed the gathering at the local bus stand during the Bhagoriya festival.
Chouhan said that our festivals, values of life and moments of celebration make us happy. Today is Bhagoriya festival, I congratulate and wish all the brothers and sisters on Bhagoriya. Chief Minister said that Bhagoria festival is an integral part of tribal tradition and a folk festival.
Chouhan announced that Bhagoriya will be celebrated as a state festival and it will be given a place as a cultural heritage.
Chouhan also announced renovation of Baba Chhitu Kirad’s fort in village Sorva, construction of his grand memorial and installation of statue of Amar Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azad in Alirajpur. The Chief Minister said that a road of 3 km length will also be constructed from Rani Kajal Mata Mandir at Sondwa to Dhanbaidi.
Chouhan said that through the Narmada Udvahan Sinchai Yojana, work is being done to deliver Narmada water to a large area of Alirajpur district. With the irrigation scheme, the fields of the district will flourish, which will lead to the development of the area. He said that a survey will be conducted soon to reach Narmada water in 106 villages of Sondwa development block. In the fields of our tribal brothers and sisters, where water is not coming from the canals, water will be supplied to the fields by laying pipelines there.
In the beginning, Chouhan and Sadhna Singh performed Kanya Pujan. Chouhan was welcomed by the tribal community and presented with a symbol. In-charge of the district and Minister of Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion Rajvardhan Singh Dattigaon, M.P. President of Forest Development Corporation Madho Singh Davar, MP Guman Singh Damor along with public representatives, officials and a large number of villagers were present.
Group products exhibition overview
Chouhan in Bhagoriya festival in Madhya Pradesh. He inspected the exhibition of various products of the group members of Rural Livelihood Mission and local products of young rural handicraft artists of the district. The Chief Minister saw the products of the women and artists of the group and appreciated and encouraged them.
