The UP government made several arrangements for Ayodhya in its annual Budget, to establish the temple town as a “world-class tourist attraction,” including a Rs 300 crore allowance for building roads leading to the Ram temple. Another Rs 140 crore has been proposed for Ayodhya’s “all-around construction,” as well as Rs 101 crore for the new airport, which will be named after Lord Ram – Maryada Purushottam Ram Airport.
Finance Minister Suresh Khanna said, “A provision of Rs 300 crore has been made for the development of approach roads to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple, Ayodhya Dham.”
In addition to developing Suryakund in Ayodhya, the government has suggested spending an additional Rs 100 crore on the growth and beautification of tourism facilities in Ayodhya.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath told reporters that Ayodhya is quickly becoming one of the most popular tourist destinations for both domestic and foreign visitors.
“Ayodhya has evolved into a modern tourist destination of the world, and tourist footfall is beyond imagination,” Adityanath said.
In a state with holy sites such as Ayodhya, Kashi, Nemish, and Devipatan, among others, the focus has been on developing pilgrim facilities and holistic development of these sites, as well as encouraging ecological and heritage tourism, he said.
According to the Chief Minister, the fact that Uttar Pradesh shares borders with seven other states make the state “the cultural center of the entire world.”
The government has budgeted Rs 8 crore for the construction of the Uttar Pradesh Tribal Museum in Lucknow and Rs 4 crore for the construction of a museum for freedom fighters in Shahjahanpur.
To promote tourism, Rs 200 crore has been allocated for the development and beautification of tourism facilities in Chitrakoot and another Rs 100 crore has been allocated for the development and beautification of tourism facilities in Varanasi. In addition, a Rs 200 crore allocation has been proposed for the Chief Minister Tourism Development Scheme.
The government has also set a target of increasing forest cover by 15% by 2030.
