Election Commission of India honoured Rohan Saxena, Chief Executive Officer of Niwari District Panchayat for outstanding performance in conducting elections during the year 2023.
President Draupadi Murmu presented a citation to Shri Rohan Saxena for promoting voter education and electoral participation on the occasion of 14th National Voters’ Day programme held today at Manekshaw Centre, Delhi,
Rohan Saxena prepared a 100-day SVEEP programme strategy for Niwari district under which increased participation of women voters, youth, first time voters and migrant labourers was ensured.
The efforts of Shri Saxena led to an increase of 5.10 per cent in the total voting of 2023 elections as compared to 2018 assembly elections in Niwari district.
In another function held at Bhopal on National Voters’ Day, Governor Mangubhai Patel has said that creating awareness among voters at the grassroots level for free and fare elections is a paramount task of serving the nation.
He appreciated the Election Commission’s innovations. He called for the best of efforts by stating the need for everyone’s trust and efforts to make the election process inclusive and easy.
Governor Mangubhai Patel was addressing the 14th National Voters’ Day function organized at Kushabhau Thackeray Convention Centre. He administered voters’ oath to the people present.
Awards were given to officers and employees for their excellent performance in the election process and winners of competitions organized by the Commission.
EPIC cards were distributed to new voters. He also inaugurated a photo exhibition organized by the Commission. Coffee table book ‘Loktantra ke rang’ was released.
The video message of Shri Rajiv Kumar, Chief Election Commissioner of Election Commission of India was also broadcast in the programme.
Governor Mangubhai Patel said that the record of 77.82 percent voting in the recently held Assembly elections is a proof of our democratic maturity in achieving the objectives of social, economic and political justice enshrined in the Constitution.
This achievement is reflective of people’s faith in democracy and an indication of the people’s unwavering faith in the welfare deeds of the government.
He congratulated the voters, Election Commission, political parties, administration and media for the success of the great festival of democracy.
Governor Patel has told the youth that you are the future leaders of the country. It is your responsibility to strengthen Indian democracy by increasing awareness of the importance of voting.
He appreciated the Election Commission team for its innovations in spreading election related information and facilitating the voting process.
Referring to the Commission’s concern regarding the voting of migrant workers, State Election Commissioner B.P. Singh said that the Election Commission of India is continuously making efforts to make voting inclusive and accessible.
Former Chief Election Commissioner of India Shri O.P. Rawat, referring to the challenges of universal suffrage in the first elections held in the country, Rawat said that the officers and employees should take inspiration from the commitment and efficiency with which the Election Commission of India.
He praised the Chief Electoral Officer of the state for the successful conduct of the Legislative Assembly 2023 elections.

Deputy District Election Officer Ratlam Dr. Shalini Srivastava, Deputy District Election Officer Neemuch Sanjeev Sahu and Deputy District Election Officer Bhind Rajkumar Khatri were awarded for conducting and managing the Legislative Assembly Elections 2023 with exceptional ability.

Governor Mangubhai Patel awarded the first three winners of the essay, logo design and slogan competitions organized by the Election Commission.
The first prize winner was given a prize of Rs 21,000, the second prize winner was given Rs 11,000 and the third prize winner was given a prize of Rs 5,000.
The first prize in the essay competition went to B.A. third year student Ragini Dehariya, of Government Swami Vivekananda Post Graduate College, Narsinghpur.
Second prize was given to Rajneesh Tripathi, third year B.Sc. student of Government Holkar Gyan Mahavidyalaya, Indore and third prize was given to Roshni Patle, student of Government Polytechnic College, Balaghat in their absence.
In the logo design competition, Draupadi Thakur of Damoh bagged the first prize, Deepak Carpenter of Neemuch got second and A. Singh Paraste of Maihar bagged the third place. In the slogan competition, first prize was awarded to Shivkumar Pathak of Indore, second prize to Rishi Kumar Tripathi of Umaria and third prize to Sushri Manisha Joshi Indore in their absence.
Governor Patel distributed EPIC cards to new voters Ajay Malviya, Ayushi Shravan, Rashi Jatav, Kushagra Upadhyay, Adarsh Singh, Palak Singh, Premnarayan, Nanhet and Sanidhya Malviya.
