As a result of the pandemic social distancing, a unique device called the “Automated Ticket Checking & Managing Access Machine (ATMA)” has been installed at the Bhubaneswar railway station. This will help to achieve the goal of reducing a variety of contact procedures.
The system can effortlessly examine body temperature, face masks, ticket details, and identity cards of passengers from a distance while keeping minimal physical touch.
Paradip Phosphates Limited has installed ATMA at the Bhubaneswar Railway Station. The ATMA system, according to senior officials at Bhubaneswar Railway Station, is a high-tech device with cameras and sensors.
It has been placed at the station’s main entrance. Passengers are asked to stand in a specified area, and their photos are scanned once they produce their ticket and photo ID.
The officials in charge of the machine can quickly check the details of the guests’ tickets. Everything is shown on the operators’ monitors/screens, allowing them to readily verify the details.
Passengers are allowed to enter the station premises for further screening after their tickets have been verified. “ATMA machine can simply inform the passengers whether their ticket has been confirmed or not,” said Bhubaneswar Station Director Chitaranjan Nayak.
This will keep the railway employees away from covid-19 infection. Passengers can also be thermally screened with the help of the machine.” The machine would be deployed at Puri train station in later phases, according to Nayak.
