Counting of votes begins in the three states of the North-east of Meghalaya, Nagaland and Tripura on Saturday. There was a recent voting for the assembly elections in all three states. If the exit poll is believed then the BJP will emerge as a major force in these three states. In two exit polls, it has been said that the BJP will be in power in Tripura where there is a Left Front Government for the last 25 years.

EC officials said that the counting of votes in the three states will start at 8 AM. Tripura was voted on February 18, while Nagaland and Meghalaya were voted on 27 February. In these three states, there are 60-60 seats in the Assembly, but for some reason the voting was held in 59-59 seats in all three.

Sources have predicted that in Tripura the BJP-IPF coalition can get between 35 and 45 seats. On the other hand, Axis My India has been predicted to get 44 to 50 seats for this alliance in the poll conducted after polling. In both the polls, the Left Front in Tripura has been given the possibility of getting 14 to 23 seats and 9 to 15 seats respectively.

In the Exit poll of a Voter, Tripura has been described as a collision of thorns and the CPI (M) is expected to get 26 to 34 seats while the BJP and its allies have been estimated to get 24 to 32 seats.

–  In Meghalaya – In the outcome of exit polls of News X, the National People’s Party has been projected to get 23-27 seats, BJP 8-12 seats and Congress 13 to 17 seats. According to C Voter, Congress can get 13-19, NPP 17-23 and BJP 4-8 seats.

– In Nagaland – According to the results of exit polls of News X, the BJP-NDPP has been told to present the challenge before the NPF with 27-32 seats. It is likely to get 20 to 25 seats. Congress has been asked to get only 0-2 seats. According to the C-Voter, this time in Nagaland, the Congress may be reduced to just between 0 to 4 seats and it can be ousted from power.
