Guwahati, Assam: In a viral video, a 68-year-old man, Shaukat Ali is seen being thrashed by angry mob who also forced him to eat pork because he was carrying beef.
A shocking incident was reported on Monday in Assam’s Biswanath Chariali where a 68-year old man named Shaukat Ali was thrashed by an angry mob for allegedly carrying beef and forced to consume pork.
The man is a local called Shaukat Ali, who on his way to ‘line’ hotel was thrashed by angry mob. Ali has been running his business in the hotel for last 35 years.
The situation grew tense as mob surrounded the victim then began to thrash him after he was accused of carrying beef. He was also force fed raw pork.
Police later dispersed the crowd and Ali was quickly rushed to the Civil Hospital in Bishwanath Chariali.
Locals shot the incident on camera and now the video is being widely shared all over the internet, however, Disha News, being a responsible media agency, doesn’t circulate videos that are of sensitive nature.
Beef is not illegal in Assam and more than 10 different non-Muslim communities consume it.
