Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, will resume his daily Janata Darshan programme on Monday to listen to people’s complaints at his official residence in Lucknow. According to a government official, the routine was suspended in May due to the second wave of pandemic and is being resumed now that the Covid situation in the state has been brought under control.
The two-hour relaxation in the state-wide night curfew, announced by the chief minister on Sunday, will take effect today, with curfew times shortened from 9pm to 7am to 10pm to 6am.
CM Yogi said on Sunday that the state’s Covid test positivity rate in the last 24 hours was 0.04 percent, with a 98.6 percent recovery rate.
“No fresh cases of Covid were found in 29 districts. Forty-five districts reported fresh cases in single digits. Only one district recorded new cases in double digits. Despite all these improvements, aggressive testing must continue,” he said.
Only 125 new Covid-19 cases were reported in the state in the last 24 hours, according to the chief minister, bringing the total number of active cases in the state to 1594.
In Uttar Pradesh, 37.1 million doses of Covid vaccine have been administered so far, including 31.3 million first doses, he said.
