The Urban Development and Housing Department has approved 390 schemes under the AMRUT 2.0 Mission for the development of parks and green areas in cities.
Rs 118 crore 8 lakh has been approved for these schemes. As per the wishes of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and under the guidance of Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, sustainable development work is being done in the urban areas of the state.
Commissioner of Urban Development and Housing Department, Bharat Yadav said that under the AMRUT 2.0 Mission, parks and all related works will be completed with quality in the stipulated time for environmental protection in cities.
The objective of these schemes is to develop green spaces in urban areas and provide a clean and healthy environment to the local communities.
Through these schemes, the quality of urban life of citizens will improve. Also, children’s play areas, resting places for the elderly, walking tracks, and areas for yoga are being developed in the parks. Provisions for lighting, water conservation, and plantation are also being made in the parks. These parks are also being made energy-efficient and environment-friendly.
Out of the approved schemes, 41 schemes have been completed. Emphasis is being laid on the planting of local plants and shady plantations in the development of green areas in view of the rising temperatures in the summer season.
To encourage mass public participation at selected sites, the walls of the parks are being beautified with folk paintings. Recreation and health facilities are being provided on priority in the park being developed through AMRUT 2.0.
