The Food Administration department has taken a serious view of the bacterial endotoxins found in the IV fluid supplied by a firm based in Dhar to the government district hospital in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh.
The report of the samples of IV fluid collected from the government district hospital Jabalpur has received and it revealed that the fluid contain bacterial endotoxins, Drug Inspector Sharad Jain said.
The samples of IV fluid was taken on a complaint was received from the district hospital wherein certain patients were taken ill after infusion of IV fluid to them, he said.
Thereafter the samples were sent for testing to a laboratory located in Kolkata, he said.
As per norms another sample of the same stock of IV fluid is sent for test on demand by the pharma firm through the court of chief judicial magistrate and the result of same is awaited, he said.
A stock of some 5000 pieces of IV fluid was supplied by the pharma firm to the district hospital, he said.
The incident of the patients taken ill after infusion of IV fluid is of July 2022.
