Alia Bhatt, the actress, has tested positive for COVID-19, as she disclosed in an Instagram post. In a statement released late Thursday night, the 28-year-old actress said: “Hello everybody, I tested positive for COVID-19. I soon segregated myself and will be quarantined at home. On the recommendation of my physicians, I am adhering to all safety precautions.” In her post, Alia also thanked concerned fans, adding: “Thank you for all of your love and encouragement. Please stay secure and take precautions.”
Alia Bhatt has been in Mumbai filming Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi.
Mr. Bhansali tested positive for the coronavirus in early March and recovered in a matter of weeks. Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt’s boyfriend, also contracted COVID-19 last month. Alia announced in an Instagram story just days after Ranbir’s coronavirus diagnosis that she was in quarantine for a few days and had tested negative.
“I’ve read all of your letters of worry and concern. I tested negative for COVID-19 and am now back at work after being isolated and consulting with my doctors. Thank you for your kind words. I’m taking precautions and remaining healthy. Please do the same.” Alia had made a message on March 11th.
During Ranbir Kapoor’s quarantine period, Alia Bhatt dedicated this post to her boyfriend Ranbir, writing: “Major missing.”
