Local villagers of Satna district have started getting benefits from the initiative taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for construction of Amrit Sarovar and Pushkar Sarovar in panchayats.
The construction of 104 Amrit Sarovar has been completed in the district.
Amrit Sarovar has been prepared at a cost of Rs 31 lakh 40 thousand in Gram Panchayat Manikpur of Janpad Panchayat Uchehra of the district.
The water capacity of the area has increased by about 42 thousand cubic meters due to the lake.
There has been good improvement in the water level of hand-pumps and wells of the settlements living in the lower area of the lake.
Fish farming by local fishermen in the lake is expected to produce 31 quintals of fish.
Along with this, irrigation facility has also increased in the surrounding 11 thousand hectare area.
In Manikpur village, the production of vegetables has increased in the fields of the farmers and the economic condition of the farmers has improved.
While treating the catchment and drainage line in Manikpur Amrit Sarovar, plantation work has also been done, which is proving helpful in preventing soil erosion caused by water.
