Sachin Waze, the suspended police officer under investigation for allegedly planting bombs outside Mukesh Ambani’s Mumbai home, has been dismissed permanently. The order for Waze’s discharge from service was released by the Mumbai Police Commissioner’s office, invoking constitutional provisions.

“API Sachin Hindurao Waze was fired from the police force. Commissioner of Police, Greater Mumbai, released an order today under Section 311(2)(B) of the Indian Constitution “According to the police.

The ex-officer was arrested after the National Investigation Agency claimed to have found incriminating evidence against him while investigating the recovery of scores of gelatine sticks (explosives) inside an abandoned car near Mr Ambani’s multi-story house in Mumbai.

Sachin Waze is reportedly being held in judicial detention in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

The agency is also looking into the death of the car’s driver, Thane businessman Mansukh Hiran, who was discovered dead in a creek near Mumbai in March, just days after reporting the vehicle stolen.

Mr Hiran’s wife claims Waze had been driving the vehicle for months until it vanished. She holds the former officer responsible for her husband’s murder.

Sachin Waze was reinstated in the Mumbai Police Department in June of last year after being suspended in 2003 due to a case involving the death of a bomb blast suspect in custody. He was in charge of the Crime Intelligence Unit at the time.

Sachin Waze was also at the center of a major controversy sparked by Mumbai’s ex-top cop Param Bir Singh’s explosive letter to Chief Uddhav Thackeray, which resulted in Anil Deshmukh’s resignation as home minister.

Facing opposition from the then-Joint Commissioner of Police, Param Bir Singh assigned Waze to the Crime Intelligence Unit (CIU) in April, according to a Mumbai Police report submitted to the Maharashtra Home Department (Crime).
