In an exclusive interview, Álvaro Morte, best known for his onscreen persona of the Professor in Money Heist, feels it’s an apt time to finish the Spanish crime series, rather than stretching it till the time it loses its charm.
He is a professor, but not the type we meet in colleges. He contains a classroom, except for robbers. And he has many shades, but not even one which will be disliked. Spanish actor Álvaro Morte has found global fame, due to his on-screen act within the Spanish drama, Money Heist. But, he’s not jittery about leaving the character behind to explore something new.
Just some years ago, Morte was a whole stranger for several. But, Money Heist, also referred to as La Casa De Papel in Spanish, changed things around for him. And he’s humbled to urge all the love from India also. “I are wishing to travel to India (for a protracted time). Everyone that i do know has been there, and comes absolutely shocked by the country, its culture, people and food,” Morte tells us in an exclusive interview.
“I also appreciate all the demonstrations of the fans in India through social media. The response that the show got from India is totally unbelievable. I thank everyone for that,” he adds.
Morte has been living along with his character, The Professor, since 2017. And now, because the Netflix series nears its end with the fifth season, the 46-year-old feels it’s an honest time to bid adieu to his friend.
“Well, i’m an actor. and fortunately, nowadays, I can see that the audience all round the world is employed to watching fiction. The audience is so intelligent that I consider, and hope and assume, that they’re going to be able to see me doing all the (other) works, and separate the image of The Professor,” Morte shares with us when asked if it’ll be a troublesome task to induce out of the shadow of his Money Heist character. He adds, “I understand the success of the character due to the series. it’s been huge. But I wouldn’t prefer to think that the audience goes to remain with just that image.”
For Morte, the thrill of being an actor is that the ability to require on other characters. “When you create an extended story, you have got that risk of doing it badly or getting bored with it. i feel it had been a decent moment to prevent Money Heist, give fans a decent product and just let it rest,” he says.
Morte doesn’t know what the long run holds, but he’s excited. “I don’t know what’s visiting happen within the future. i feel it’s time to end this and acquire into other projects. it might be unfair for any actor to urge really tied to a personality,” says the actor.
