An Air Force plane carrying an empty oxygen tanker flew from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, to Jamnagar, Gujarat, on Monday evening. By Tuesday morning, the tanker will be back in Bhopal, carrying oxygen. In addition to Bhopal, Air Force aircraft are assisting with oxygen supply in Indore and Gwalior. Empty oxygen tankers are supplied to the Bokaro plant as well as Jamnagar with these jets.
Due to an increase in coronavirus cases in MP, 250 to 300 tanker oxygen will be needed by April 30. More than 180 tankers are currently providing oxygen throughout the province.
The government extended the curfew in Bhopal, Jabalpur, Chhindwara, Sagar, Guna, and Ratlam until May 3, while Indore and Gwalior districts are still waiting for a verdict. The state was recently put under a corona curfew, which will last until April 30.
Despite the increase in incidents, the positivity rate in Madhya Pradesh had marginally decreased, much to the relief of the state administration. According to the health department’s bulletin, the positivity levels fell from 23.7 percent on April 23 to 23 percent on April 25.
With a total of 59,092 tests performed in the state in the last 24 hours, the state is also growing its regular testing capability. On Sunday, 11,324 Covid-19 patients were released from different hospitals after recovering from the infection.
However, Bhopal and Indore, which are at the top of the infection spread list, recorded 1,802 and 1,826 new cases in the last 24 hours on Sunday, respectively. Gwalior, which is also gaining ground in the Covid-19 race, saw 1,220 new cases in the same time frame.
