He extended congratulations for the air services to the state.
Union Civil Aviation and Steel Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and Minister of State for Civil Aviation (Retd) General Dr. V.K. Singh joined virtually from New Delhi.
Energy Minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar, Social Justice and Disabled Welfare, Horticulture and Food Processing Minister Narayan Singh Kushwaha and MLAs were present in the programme held at Gwalior Airport.
Expansion of Air services will be done with private investment to develop tourism in remote areas
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that there are 26 airstrips in the state, out of which 22 belong to the state government and 4 to the private sector.
Our endeavour is to ensure airstrips in all districts like divisional level with cooperation of the central government, he said.
The state government has taken steps towards developing airports in Datia and Rewa.
An airport will be developed in Ujjain with Centre’s assistance to facilitate visitors from India and abroad.
Air service can also promote air ambulance facilities and develop tourism in remote areas of the state.
Therefore, steps will be taken in the direction of attracting private investment by connecting aviation and tourism with Central Government’s assistance.
Air connectivity to seven cities of the country from Gwalior – Union Minister Shri Scindia
Union Civil Aviation and Steel Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said that a new era has started in Madhya Pradesh due to the spontaneity, hard work and determination of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav towards progress and development.
In compliance with Prime Minister Modi’s resolve to provide flight facility even to people wearing hawai chappal, constant effortsare being made to ensure that flight facility is also available to the common man in the country.
Gwalior is now connected by air to seven major cities of the country namely Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Indore, Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Ayodhya.
He congratulated Akasa Air Lines for starting air services in Gwalior-Ahmedabad sector.
The aircraft present at Gwalior airport was virtually flagged off.
