After getting directions from the Supreme Court to identify the third gender, the transgender has demanded the death of the man in the absence of a job in Air India.
After refusing to give Air India a job in the aviation company, she has written a letter to President Ram Nath Kovind asking for death to be given. Shanavi Ponnuswamy had applied for a job as a member of the cabin crew in Air India.
After being refused to get a job by company, Shanvi challenged the company in the Supreme Court last year. The top court had asked the Air India and Civil Aviation Ministry to file the response within four weeks in this regard. In a letter to the President, Shanvi claimed that neither the Air India nor the Civil Aviation Ministry responded to the Supreme Court. She has said that she is not able to live without any job and therefore she should be allowed to die.
Shanvi’s letter on Facebook,
a Facebook page, “Trans Rights Now Collective”, has written, “It is clear that the Indian government is not ready to answer my issue of life and the question of employment. And, I am not in a position to spend on daily meals. In such a case, it is not possible to give money to lawyers to fight in the Supreme Court. He wrote that due to gender, he has been deprived of his original right. Shanvi wrote that he had served as a Customer Assistant Executive in Air India for one year and after that he underwent surgery to make a transformation. After this, he applied for four jobs in a period of two years but he was not employed.
