On completion of 75 years of establishment of Government Hamidia Arts and Commerce College, Bhopal here today, Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced construction of state-of-the-art huge all-facilitated building of the college and opening of new faculties as per the requirement of the students at Amrit Mahotsav 2023. Shri Chouhan said that after determining the place of construction of the building, approach road and other works will also be done. Necessary steps will be taken on the suggestions of former and present students and these works will be completed in coordination with Collector Bhopal, Higher Education Department and related departments.
Addressing the Amrit Mahotsav 2023, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that every student has a choice to either live a normal life or try to become great by doing better work for the country and society. Living a life useful to others is a life worth living. He who lives for the country and the society wins. Swami Vivekananda has given this inspiration. The Chief Minister said that being a senior today, I want to give this message to my juniors that they should think of doing something big and better in life.
It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Shri Chouhan himself has been a student of this college. The Chief Minister also inaugurated the statue of Swami Vivekananda installed in the college premises.
Chief Minister lost in memories of student life
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that everyone meets with love in the college. Today many memories are being refreshed after coming to the campus of this college. Feel like running and hugging friends. Shri Chouhan told that he used to go to college by bicycle. Earlier, he used to go to Sefiya College, later to Hamidia. Many celebrities have emerged from this college, including Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma, who was the President of India. Paying respects to Dr. Sharma, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Shri Babulal Gaur, Shri Kailash Sarang, Shri Lakshminarayan Sharma, Smt. Najma Heptulla, Shri K.N. Pradhan, Shri O.N. Celebrities like Srivastava, Justice Faizanuddin, Mr. Hasnat Siddiqui came out after studying.

At the beginning of the address, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also recited the song “Ahsaan Mere Dil Par Tumhaara Hai Friends, Yeh Dil Tumhare Pyar Ka Mara Hai Friends…”. , Tujhko Chalna Hoga…” also recited the song. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that our life should be useful for the country and the society. Students should remember these lines of Vivekananda ji. Reiterating the nectar words of Swami Vivekananda, the Chief Minister said that no task is impossible for a human being. He can do all the work who decides.
Comrades remembered, said there will be an informal program of students
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan repeatedly remembered the college colleagues. In these, the mention of Mr. Prem Dhingra, who was the President of the Student Union, Mr. Devendra Rawat, the present President of the Public Participation Committee of the college, Mr. Mahendra Singh Bundela, Mr. Chhota Babu Rai, Mr. Surjit Singh Chauhan and many others are mentioned. Many of them were present in today’s festival. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that soon an informal program will be organized with the former and present students of the college. Inauguration of library building, inauguration of computer lab
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan met the students of NCC and NSS as soon as he reached the college campus. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan inquired about the activities of the cadets. The Chief Minister inaugurated the computer lab of the college, planted Rudraksha sapling in the campus and inaugurated the library building. The library building has been constructed in the World Bank Project. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also inspected the gymnasium in the college campus. The students of the college presented a folk dance and welcomed the Chief Minister with traditional musical instruments in the role of dancers.
Devi Sharanji, the first student of the first batch, was welcomed
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan welcomed retired officer Shri Devi Sharan Saxena, a student of the first batch of the college in the year 1946, with a wreath. He released a souvenir dedicated to the Amrit Mahotsav of the college. A memento was presented to the Chief Minister. Principal Mrs. Pushpalata Choukse gave the welcome address. Along with the Chief Minister, MP Ms. Pragya Singh Thakur, Medical Education Minister Mr. Vishwas Kailash Sarang, Mayor Mrs. Malti Rai, Municipal Corporation President Mr. Kishan Suryavanshi, Mr. Tapan Bhowmik, former MP Mr. Alok Sanjar and many former students were present in the Amrit Mahotsav.
Shri V.D. Sharma said that the college has built Chief Minister Shri Chouhan. The credit goes to the institution for grooming such efficient leadership. Regional Organization Minister of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, Mr. Chetan Sukhadia said that the statue of Swami Vivekananda should be placed in the college campus.
