On the authority of chief minister Yogi Adityanath, who issued the required directives earlier this week, colleges in Uttar Pradesh begin their admission processes today (Thursday, August 5). As the coronavirus disease (Covid-19)-ravaged society looks forward to progressively getting back on track, the state’s degree colleges are slated to resume about two weeks before the schools for classes 9 to 12 do on August 16.
Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, urged that preparations should be made to begin new sessions in all educational institutions, despite the Covid-19 situation. Because all high school and intermediate board results have already been released, institutions can begin accepting applications for undergraduate degree programmes as early as today. According to sources, the state administration plans to begin college programmes in mid-August.
Even though colleges in Uttar Pradesh are slated to reopen soon for students, all those who attend must rigorously adhere to Covid-19 acceptable behaviour at all times. Sanitizers, infrared thermometers, and masks have been strategically placed across the college grounds, and officials have been instructed to ensure that students comply to social distancing.
According to reports quoting sources acquainted with the situation, the Uttar Pradesh government’s education department is working to ensure that the entrance tests for third-year graduate students be held on schedule.
Meanwhile, lessons for high school kids (classes 9 and 10) and intermediate students (classes 11 and 12) will resume on August 16, the day after India’s 75th Independence Day. Students were asked to join in the liberation day celebrations while complying to the relevant Covid-19 standards, despite the fact that the schools were directed to reopen with 60% capacity.
