Union External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan welcomed the NRIs to Madhya Pradesh at a cultural evening at the Nakshatra lawn of the Brilliant Convention Center on the first day of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention.
Chief Minister Chouhan along with Foreign Minister Jaishankar also released the book “Ekatm Dham, The Journey for Oneness” dedicated to the philosophy of Adi Guru Shankaracharya.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that Adi Guru Shankaracharya Maharaj has united India culturally. On his concept, India believes that there is only one consciousness in all of us.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that God resides in every particle of the universe. We are all one. Adi Guru Shankaracharya also put forward this concept as a philosophy of Advaita Vedanta. There is a solution to every problem of world in Advaita Vedanta. Dedicated to this concept, Ekatm Dham is being constructed at Omkareshwar.
In the cultural evening, under the direction of choreographer Sushri Maitreyi Pahadi, the students of Ustad Allauddin Khan Music and Arts Academy of the Department of Culture presented attractive group dances.
Home Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra, Health Minister Dr. Prabhuram Chowdhary, Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion Minister Shri Rajvardhan Singh Dattigaon and Chief Secretary Shri Iqbal Singh Bains were also present.
After the cultural programme a dinner was organised for all the overseas Indians. In the dinner, a series of delicious dishes including local dishes of all zones of the state, specific food items of Indore were served to all the NRIs.
