New Delhi, India: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Anil Bajpai joined BJP in presence of Union Minister Vijay Goel and Delhi BJP in-charge Shyam Jaju.
Prior to national elections, many leaders have left their former parties and joined hands with the new ones.
Following the same path, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Gandhi Nagar (Delhi) Anil Bajpai joined BJP in presence of Union Minister Vijay Goel.
It is reported that Bajpai left the party due to tensions between the party.
Recently, BJP claimed that it was in touch with 14 legislators who wanted to leave the ruling party in Delhi due to “frustration and humiliation”.
“I worked for the AAP for 15 years. I was hurt by a lack of respect and a peculiar type of functioning in the party. It has detracted from its original path”, he said.
“14 of the AAP MLAs are in contact with us and they might soon leave the party because they are frustrated by the work of their own party,” Vijay Goel said in a press conference.
Goel said Manish Sisodia, Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi had himself maintained that his party MLAs were “saleable” and would take a “bribe” of Rs 10 crore.
Many AAP leaders, including Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, have accused the BJP of indulging in horse-trading.
Sisodia on Wednesday alleged that the BJP offered Rs 10 crore each to seven AAP MLAs to switch sides.
However, media reports suggest Bajpai denied having taken money for joining the BJP. He also said that Kejriwal has a habit of making allegations then apologizing.
Three municipal councilors from AAP have also joined the BJP.
