Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the Ladli Bahna Yojana is not a scheme to provide funds per month but to honour the Bahnas. This is changing the lives of the sisters. A new era of women empowerment is starting. Many schemes are being run by the government in the interest of women. As a child, I used to see that there was discrimination against women. Since then I had a great desire to work for the cause of women. After becoming the Chief Minister, I initiated the Ladli Laxmi Yojana. Today, 45 lakh Ladli Lakshm is have been made in the state. We launched the Kanya Vivah Yojana for marriage of daughters.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that 50 percent reservation was given to women in panchayat elections and urban bodies, due to which women are running the government in panchayats and cities. Not only this, 2 percent exemption has been given to women in the stamp duty of registry on the purchase of house-shop and land. I had announced the Ladli Bahna Yojana in Narmadapuram on the day of Narmada Jayanti. Now every month Rs one thousand are being deposited in their accounts. This amount will be gradually increased to Rs 3,000.

Stopped vehicle to help sistersWhen Chief Minister Chouhan was returning by road after Vikas Parv, he saw two women looking very sad, on the side of the road. He stopped the vehicle and called them near him and inquired about their problems. Physically challenged Sangeeta Sahu and Kiran Sahu told that they are in financial trouble. Immediately approving financial assistance to them, the Chief Minister directed that not only should a scooty be given to Sangeeta with public support but also all possible assistance should be given.

Chief Minister Chouhan was addressing the Ladli Bahna Sammelan and Vikas Parv programme at Krishi Upaj Mandi premises of Seoni-Malwa Banapura. In the programme, he dedicated/performed bhoomi-pujan of development works worth more than Rs 262 crores.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that the Samman Nidhi of farmers has now been increased from Rs 10,000 to Rs 12,000. Earlier, Rs 6 thousand were given from the Center and Rs 4 thousand by the state government, which has now been increased to Rs 6 thousand more in the state. Now a total of Rs 12 thousand of Kisan Samman Nidhi will reach the farmers’ accounts.

Chief Minister Chouhan announced construction of a beautiful and luxurious auditorium in Seoni Malwa, arrangement of parking on the main road, starting of Science PG class in Kusum Mahavidyalaya and college in Shivpur.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that now forms of 21 to 23 year old sisters are also being filled under Ladli Bahna Yojana and those sisters who have tractor or less than 5 acres of land in their families will also be included in this scheme. Efforts are being made to ensure that the income of each sister is at least one lakh rupees annually. Self-help groups of women are being associated with toll tax collection work through the livelihood mission. Sisters will become Lakhpati, sisters will be more empowered. The Chief Minister said that those who misbehave and cast evil eye on sisters will not be spared, they will be punished severely. Ahatas near liquor shops have been sealed. No stone will be left unturned in the honour of women.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that the government is helping children for their education. Fees will be waived till class eighth. Those who get more than 75 percent marks in class 12th will be given 25 thousand for laptop and scooty will be given to one daughter who comes first in the school. The government will arrange for the fees of the students under the Medhavi Yojana. He said that the dreams of the students will not be allowed to die.

Chief Minister Chouhan was welcomed by Ladli Bahnas with a big rakhi and by the citizens with big flower garlands.

Member of Parliament Rao Uday Pratap Singh expressed gratitude to the people present. MLA Premshankar Verma expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Chouhan for getting development works worth Rs. 400 crore done in Seoni Malwa area in the last four years and gift of development works worth Rs. 262 crore. MLAs Dr. Sitasaran Sharma and Vijaypal Singh, Municipal President Shri Ritesh Jain, Darshan Singh Choudhary, Smt. Maya Narolia, Madhavdas Agarwal and other citizens were present.

The programme started with lighting of the lamp and Kanya-Poojan, Municipality President Shri Ritesh Jain expressed gratitude.
