Recently, a video went viral on social media, particularly on WhatsApp and Twitter displaying cops arresting a suicide bomber from Virar’s DMart supermarket.
Turns out, it was just a counter-terror mock drill conducted by the local police along with Riot Control Police (RCP) and Quick Response Team (QRT) and the accused wasn’t a real terrorist.
People outside the hypermarket shot the videos and shared on Twitter.
Many were in disbelief and claimed that the terrorist caught was real hence they circulated the same false truth on social media platforms which later outspread as fake news in the country.
However, it was just a mock drill, which saw the uniformed policemen catching a dummy terrorist.
Virar is a city in Palghar, a small town in Konkan division of Maharashtra state.
After the cowardly Pulwama attack in Jammu & Kashmir by self-acclaimed Jaish-e-Mohammed, people in the country are both, furious and shook.
Consequently, the Palghar mock drill came out as an ingenuine news on many feeds.
