New Delhi: A big relief for director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavat’ is reported from Himachal and Uttar Pradesh. Just a day after the decision to not show the film in BJP-ruled state Gujarat, it has been reported that the film has got green signal from Uttar Pradesh. Also, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur has said that he is not in favor of banning film. According to Jairam Thakur, “I had already said that I respect the art.” As far as ‘Padmavat’ is concerned, Himachal Government is not in favor of banning it in its territory. So we have no objection of releasing it here, I want this movie to be displayed in theaters. ”
The Goa government too had decided to ban the film recently. Although Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and now Gujarat’s BJP governments have upheld the decision to ban ‘Padmavat’ in their state.
‘Padmavat’ has got a green signal for release from the censor board, but the way the opposition continues to be violent and in some states the ban remains intact. It is clear from the fact that this film, which is being budgeted for a budget of about 190 crore, may face major losses. By the way, ‘Padmavat’ on Box Office is to meet Akshay’s ‘Padman’ on January 25. That is, for the producers, this film will not be less than any test.
