Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the environment is the most important subject today.

It is our collective responsibility to save the Earth. India’s identity in the world has also been established in the context of preserving nature and the environment.

Coordination between nature and progress is necessary. Prime Minister Shri Modi is bringing honor to India with his capable leadership.

His concern for the environment is proven by the fact that he is aiming for 500 GW of renewable energy by India by 2030.

We will be successful in reducing carbon emissions by one billion tons. This is an important resolve from the environmental point of view. The citizens of the country are also cooperating to fulfill this resolve.

Madhya Pradesh is continuously working in the renewable energy sector. As per the resolution of Prime Minister Shri Modi, the state will contribute maximally towards increasing solar energy production.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the discussion session and national seminar on ‘Global efforts for climate change: Contribution of states in India’s commitment’ at Kushabhau Thackeray International Convention Center on Monday.

The seminar has been organized by Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis (AIGGPA) and Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology in collaboration with the Narmada Samagra Sanstha PAIRVI and Cecoedecon organization.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that in the period the world is going through now, the importance of our Indian way of life, our beliefs, and our basic approach of connecting with God and nature come to the fore. Indians are known for having a great lifestyle.

We are serious about the purity of food and water. God has showered special blessings on Madhya Pradesh. While our country loves humanity, India is also active in its commitment to the environment. All are aware of India’s intentions for the welfare of the world.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Prime Minister Modi is a ray of hope for the countries of the world.

While the circumstances of the war between Russia and Ukraine are known to all, nations like Israel, known for their use of technology and their struggle for identity, have a respectful attitude toward India.

Swami Vivekananda had said that the 21st century will belong to India. Today, our prestige is increasing in the world thanks to Prime Minister Shri Modi and India’s capability and love for the environment.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the Madhya Pradesh government has taken necessary decisions for the environmental protection of the Narmada and its banks.

Madhya Pradesh is the home of rivers. Our priority is to maintain the cleanliness of all rivers and the balance of our ecosystem. Our River Son strengthens the Ganga. Chambal and Kshipra, through the Yamuna, also play the same role in the Ganga basin. Betwa also joins Yamuna.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that we believe in “live and let live”. Ratapani Tiger Sanctuary is near Bhopal. On the roads near Bhopal, humans are seen during the day and tigers at night.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav expressed the hope that this national seminar and discussion session will bring out important findings on various aspects related to the environment. He wished for the success of this ideological program. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav inaugurated the discussion session by lighting the lamp.

The session was addressed virtually by Erik Solheim, former Norwegian Minister for International Development and Environment and former Executive Director of UNDP.

He said that Madhya Pradesh is a very beautiful state, and its heritage is worth viewing. The climate protection work being done in Madhya Pradesh will have global importance.

AIGGPA CEO Lokesh Sharma said that Madhya Pradesh has touched many dimensions of progress in the last two decades. The Madhya Pradesh government is serious about the environment.

The United Nations Climate Change Conference will be held in Azerbaijan next month. In this context, organizing a state-level pre-COP discussion session is important. This is a first-of-its-kind symposium involving states on India’s commitment to the environment.

The interaction program was designed to enhance the participation of society with the government and to interact with individuals and organizations who act as watchdogs for the environment.

Shri Ajay Jha, director of PAIRVI, said that the temperature is likely to rise by 2.5 degrees by the end of the century.

Dr. Vivekananda Pai of Vigyan Bharati, Kerala, said that carbon emission in India is 1.8 tonnes per capita, which is less than the world average of 4.5 tonnes per capita. Secretary of CECOEDECON, Manjubala Joshi, said that everyone will have to make joint efforts to stop the ill effects of climate change.

Retired Indian Administrative Service officer Shri R.S. Prasad said that all programs related to climate change should be self-driven. Climate justice is essential. Director General of the Council of Science and Technology, Dr. Anil Kothari, proposed the vote of thanks.

An attempt was made to bring together key leaders working in the field of climate change in the first state-level Pre-Conference of Parties (COP) consultation session in Bhopal on the theme “State’s Contribution to Global Efforts for Climate Change India’s Commitment.”

This event in Bhopal has been considered an important step taken by the state in the field of climate change. This consultation reflects Madhya Pradesh’s innovative approach to combining economic development and environmental responsibility.

More than 200 national and international climate leaders, government officials, environmental experts, and representatives attended the event.

At the center of this discussion was a special focus on the efforts being made by Madhya Pradesh, which is playing an important role in advancing India’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav Meets Clay Craftsmen and Tries His Hand at Making Diyas

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav observed the terracotta crafts made by clay craftsmen Lakhan Kumar Prajapati and Bablu Prajapati of Bhopal.

These crafts include idols of Lakshmi Mata, lamps, and other artworks. Prajapati showed a chirping magic bird made of a mixture of cow dung and clay to Chief Minister Dr. Yadav and also presented a statue of Shrinath ji.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav appreciated Shri Prajapati’s talent and contributed by making clay crafts himself.

He said that Prime Minister Modi has inspired the entire country to support local artisans. Efforts are needed to encourage potters who create lamps, wicks, and decorative items and ensure they receive adequate economic benefits from their art.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav urged citizens to support the craftsmen by purchasing such products, emphasizing the importance of helping potters and laborers enjoy Diwali by buying locally made goods.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also met students from various schools at the program venue. The students, who had created many paintings on environmental and nature conservation themes, were delighted to meet Chief Minister Dr. Yadav. He congratulated the students for their artistic talent in painting.
