The state government while paying tribute to women is making various efforts to honor the brave female leaders and rulers who contributed to the nation in areas such as the freedom struggle, governance, and acts of courage.
Previously, the 300th birth anniversary of Lokmata Ahilya Bai Holkar was celebrated in Indore.
Now, in honor of Queen Durgavati, a special Cabinet meeting is being held in Singrampur, Damoh, on the occasion of her Jayanti.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav along with the entire cabinet and Senior administrative staff will spend the day of October 5 in Singrampur, Damoh. Along with the cabinet meeting here, all the ministers will participate in various programmes.
Major programs to be held in Singrampur
- Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav.
- Transfer of funds to the accounts of eligible beneficiaries of the Ladli Behna Yojana of the state.
- Transfer of funds to the accounts of beneficiaries of Social Security Pension Scheme.
- Transfer of grant amount to the accounts of beneficiary sisters of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.
- Lokarpan and Bhoomi Pujan of various development works.
- Honoring the outstanding students of village Hardua Jamsha development block Batiagarh.
- Visit to Singaurgarh Fort, Nidanakund Waterfall, Ancient Durga Mata Temple.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that Rani Durgavati was a symbol of patriotism and women empowerment. A cabinet meeting is being held in Sangrampur in her honor.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that in celebration of the 500th birth anniversary of Veerangana Rani Durgavati of the Gond Empire, the government has planned various activities throughout the year. He expressed satisfaction that the first cabinet meeting under the new government was held in January in Jabalpur, honoring both Rani Durgavati and Veerangana Rani Avantibai.
He further noted that a Cabinet Meeting is scheduled for Saturday in Singhrampur, the original capital of Veerangana Rani Durgavati, in commemoration of her birth anniversary on October 5. Dr. Yadav emphasized the pride in Rani Durgavati’s legacy, highlighting her exemplary governance and courage during the challenging times faced by the country.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that Rani Durgavati not only fought valiantly against the nation’s adversaries but also exemplified good governance. He highlighted that there is no greater symbol of women empowerment than Rani Durgavati, who led her army alongside her sisters to defend her kingdom and ultimately sacrificed herself for her country.
On this occasion, Dr. Yadav said that a new scheme called “Shri Anna Protsahan,” aimed at encouraging farmers who produce Kodo-Kutki in the year 2024-25is being launched.
The state government will provide support to farmers cultivating coarse grain crops. He emphasized that these initiatives are intended to honor the remarkable individuals—both men and women—from our history who have made our country and state proud.
Design of the cabinet venue will reflect the grandeur of Rani Durgavati’s fort
To commemorate the 500th birth anniversary of Rani Durgavati, a grand open-air cabinet meeting will be held in Singrampur, inspired by the good governance of Rani Durgavati, her efficiency and empowerment of women.
The design of this venue reflects the grandeur of Rani Durgavati’s fort, which also includes a fort-like entrance and Shiva temple.
This is the first time that the cabinet meeting is being held in an open area, inspired by the architecture of Rani Durgavati’s time.
The architectural ceiling and walls here will vividly present the entire journey of the queen’s life, highlighting her important role in Nari Yudh, progressive governance, and women’s empowerment.
The design of the venue will include magnificent stone walls, arched windows, and elements reflecting the authenticity of a medieval fort.
The decor will be inspired by Gond art, highlighting Rani Durgavati’s deep connection with the Gond community of the Singrampur region.
The food area has been decorated on the lines of a traditional Gond village courtyard, where guests will be able to sit under trees and enjoy food served in ancient bronze utensils brought from Hata.
Apart from this, special offices for ministers are being built inspired by Gond art and murals, which will present a unique amalgamation of functionality and cultural beauty.
In the grand event at Singrampur, all the ministers including the Chief Minister will be welcomed by the local tribal cultural team in traditional style, which will highlight the unique traditions and vibrant spirit of the region.
