Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated ‘Bhutta Mahotsav’.

The festival was organized at the residence of Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya in Bhopal.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also tasted corn and dishes made of it.

On this occasion, MP V.D. Sharma, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Vishwas Sarang, Mayor Malti Rai and other public representatives and administrative officers were present.

A musical presentation was also given by a group of artists at the Bhutta Mahotsav.

The program was organized under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s initiative ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign.

The message of “Apne Madhya Pradesh ke liye aao milkar ped lagaye, hara bhara MadhyaPradesh banaye’ was also given in the programme.

Chhindwara is known as Corn City.

Corn is grown in entire district due to presence of suitable soil and climate needed for corn to grow. Corn grown is exported to other districts also.

In September 2018, Corn Festival, a two day event was held in district. The festival was a 2 day event where companies excelling in corn based products from Food Industry, Textile, Pharmaceuticals, Starch, Glucose, Sweeteners, Bio-plastics, Animal feed, Seeds, Fertilizers & Pesticides, Agricultural implements etc showcased their products and interacted with other stakeholders.
