Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan said that auxiliary polling stations have been established in the polling stations in the state where the number of voters is more than 1500 for the convenience of the voters.
A total of 356 auxiliary polling stations have been set up in the state with the permission of the Election Commission of India.
One auxiliary polling station each has been made in Jaora, Bhitarwar, Chanderi, Khurai, Sagar, Rajnagar, Dhauhani, Mudwara, Jabalpur Cant, Sihora, Seoni, Saunsar, Vidisha, Basoda, Shamsabad, Ichhawar, Sehore, Biaora, Shajapur, Bhagwanpura, Indore-3, Ratlam City, Javra and Suwasra assembly constituencies of the state.
Similarly, two auxiliary polling stations each have been established in Gwalior East, Chhatarpur, Singrauli, Gadarwara, Dewas, Khargone, Sendhwa, Jhabua and Nagda-Khachraud assembly constituencies.
Three auxiliary polling stations each have been made in Gwalior Rural, Raghogarh, Bhopal South-West and Mandsaur , four each in Guna-Chhindwara, Bhopal Central, Barwah and Indore-4 and five each in Gwalior, Gwalior South, Dabra and Berasia assembly constituencies.
Seven auxiliary polling stations have been made in Jabalpur East, eight each in Narela and Depalpur, nine each in Ujjain South and Ujjain North, 18 in Indore-1, 18 in Indore-2, 19 in Sanwer, 20 in Dr. Ambedkar Nagar (Mhow), 29 in Huzur, 50 in Indore-5 and 53 in Rau assembly constituency.
Meanwhile, Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan said that nomination papers will be submitted for 5 days for the second phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024.
He informed that the process of filing nominations for the second phase of Lok Sabha elections has started from March 28.
Due to government holiday of Good Friday on March 29, Sunday on March 31 and bank holiday on April 1, nomination papers will not be submitted.
The last date for filing nomination papers for the second phase is April 4, 2024.
Deposit amount
Chief Electoral Officer Rajan said that the deposit amount (Surety amount) has been fixed by the Election Commission of India for contesting the Lok Sabha-2024 elections.
Along with the nomination letter, candidates belonging to unreserved category will have to deposit Rs 25 thousand and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe category will have to deposit Rs 12 thousand 500.
