Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla has directed to ensure that water from Bargi project reaches Satna well before the Rabi season.

He asked the revenue officers to complete the process of land acquisition and compensation distribution within stipulated time limit.

The Deputy Chief Minister while addressing divisional level review meeting in Rewa asked all concerned officers to conduct reviews regularly to fulfill their responsibilities within the prescribed limits. 

The Deputy Chief Minister reviewed district wise, the pending acquisition cases of various districts and gave necessary instructions after seeking information about the progress.

Deputy Chief Minister Shukla reviewed the progress of Bargi Diversion Project through video conferencing on Wednesday.

Deputy Chief Minister sought information about the physical progress of the work from NVDA officials.

He reviewed the progress of the tunnel construction work and distributory canals under the project and issued necessary instructions.

The district Collectors of Katni and Satna, NVDA ENC Pramod Kumar Sharma from Scretariat and departmental officers participated in the meeting.

Bargi Diversion Project
The Right Bank canal is part of Rani Awanti Bai Sagar Project – Bargi Dam on river Narmada in Jabalpur district in eastern Madhya Pradesh.

The Right Bank Canal is erected to carry water to Jabalpur, Katni, Satna and Rewa districts for irrigation of agriculture fields.

The Right Bank canal project is known as Bargi Diversion Project.

It is an inter – Basin Project which will carry Narmada waters to Rewa and Satna district after crossing high ridges of Son-Tones Basin.

The length of main canal is 197.4 KM, length of distributory is 255.165 KM and length of Distribution network is 2700 KM.

After completion of this project irrigation potential of 2.45 Lakh Hect land shall be created to serve Jabalpur, Katni, Rewa and Satna District.

Main Canal up to 104 KM has been completed by Jan-2010 and one KM of Tunnel has been driven up to Dec- 2012.

It is proposed to provide 1164 L.Cum of water for Domestic and Industrial use.

It is under consideration of Govt. of India to declare as National Project.
