The final round of the year 2023 has brought joy to the players of Madhya Pradesh.
For the first time, three players and one coach from Madhya Pradesh will be decorated with National Sports Awards.
Olympian Aishwarya Pratap Singh Tomar of Madhya Pradesh State Shooting Academy, Prachi Yadav of Pera Canoeing and former player of Madhya Pradesh Women’s Hockey Academy.
And current star player of Hockey India Sushila Chanu will be honored with the Arjuna Award for National Excellence in Sports.
Indian hockey team coach Shivendra Singh will be honored with Dronacharya Puruskar.
President Draupadi Murmu will confer the National Sports Award on 9th January 2024 at 11 am at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Aishwarya Pratap Singh Tomar – A star shooter of the Madhya Pradesh State Shooting Academy, Aishwarya was the most successful Indian athlete in the Asian Games held this year.
He won two gold, one silver and one bronze medal in the Asian Games.
Along with this, Aishwarya Pratap Singh set a world record and won a silver medal in the 50m rifle three position men’s single event.
Prachi Yadav – Madhya Pradesh’s Pera Keno Prachi Yadav has qualified for Paris Pera Olympics.
He recently qualified for the Paris Olympics by finishing fourth at the ICF Sprint and Para Canoe World Championships, Germany.
Prachi is the first athlete from India to qualify for the Paris Pera Olympics.
Sushila Chanu – An outstanding player of the first batch of Madhya Pradesh Women’s Hockey Academy Gwalior, Sushila has achieved many achievements.
In the Women’s Hockey Junior World Cup held in Germany, the Indian team won the bronze medal under Sushila Ki’s captaincy.
In the 2014 Asian Games, he played a key role in winning the bronze medal for the Indian team.
Sushila was the captain of the Indian team in the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Shivendra Singh – Shivendra Singh from Madhya Pradesh is currently part of the coaching staff of the Indian hockey team.
He has played nearly 160 international matches and scored nearly 80 goals.
