Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that today is the day of rise of good fortune for Sidhi. With the establishment of a medical college in Sidhi, people will not have to go to Rewa, Bhopal or Indore for treatment. They will have access to high level medical facilities in Sidhi only. Justice has been done to Sidhi today. With this the number of medical colleges in the state will increase to 31. Till the year 2003, there were only 5 medical colleges in the state.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was addressing the community present on the occasion of ground-breaking ceremony of construction of Sidhi Medical College building complex in Naudhiya of Sidhi.

With the establishment of a medical college in Sidhi district, 100 MBBS seats will be available for the students of the state every year. With the opening of the medical college, patients coming from Sidhi district and neighboring districts will be able to get the benefit of tertiary level medical facilities.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan performed bhoomi-pujan in the Vedic tradition by worshiping the girl child amidst chanting of mantras at the proposed site for the medical college in Naudhiya village. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also laid the foundation stone of 100 bedded Civil Hospital Rampur Naikin costing Rs 24 crore 8 lakh 84 thousand. Minister in-charge of Sidhi Ms. Meena Singh, MP Sidhi Smt. Reeti Pathak, MLA Mr. Kedarnath Shukla, Mr. Kuwar Singh Tekam and other public representatives were present in the program. On the direct arrival of the Chief Minister Shri Chouhan, the sisters of Ladli Behna Sena welcomed him by showering flowers and carrying a Kalash Yatra.
