The country’s first Unity Mall will be built in Ujjain. An amount of Rs 284 crore has been sanctioned by the Ministry of Finance, Government of India for its construction.

Urban Development and Housing Minister Bhupendra Singh has said that this achievement has been possible due to the efforts of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

He has directed the concerned authorities to get the Unity Mall constructed within the time limit. This approval has been given under the Government of India’s “Scheme of Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment 2023-24”.

Unity Mall will act as a one stop market place for the promotion and sale of One District One Product, GI Products, Handicraft Products and other local products. There will be shops to display the products of every district in the state. Major products of other states will also be available in Unity Mall. Unity Mall will also have an auditorium, food stalls and a garden.

It is worth mentioning that a unity mall is to be constructed in each state. Madhya Pradesh has received the initial approval from the Government of India.
