Forest Minister Dr. Vijay Shah said that Van Mahotsav 2023 is being organised in the entire state in the month of July. Van Mahotsav is celebrated every year to create awareness among the general public about tree plantation. He said that taking new initiative this year, 4 cultural forests are being developed in the state. Ujjain, Bhopal, Satna and Jabalpur districts have been selected for this. Mainly Navagraha, Nakshatra and Panchavati forests will be developed in these forests.
Minister Dr. Shah said that under the efficient leadership of Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, special emphasis is being laid on sustainable development of forests in the state and providing new employment opportunities to the forest dwellers based on forest produce. Many schemes are being run for this.
On the occasion of Hariyali Mahotsav, Minister Dr. Shah has appealed to the people of the state to actively participate in forest development schemes. Saplings for plantation can be obtained from the nearest forest nursery. Dr. Shah has asked Panchayat, educational and voluntary organisations to play a significant role in making Van Mahotsav 2023 a success.
