Urban Development and Housing Minister Bhupendra Singh instructed for providing detailed guidelines and the same is issued to all the urban bodies regarding the prevention and control of fire accidents.

The civic bodies have been instructed that action should be taken to impose fine by issuing notices to all such buildings whose owners have not made fire safety provisions after obtaining fire safety plan and fire safety certificate.

Even after giving notice, if action is not taken by the owner of the building, then appropriate action should be taken to stop the activities in the building after giving information to the District Collector.

The public should be made aware and trained through regular mock drills in all multi-storey buildings. The civic bodies have also been asked to regularly inspect multi-storey buildings and assess the condition of fixed fire fighting systems and sprinklers. Along with this, it has been asked to ensure 100 percent compliance of the guidelines issued in December-2022 for the prevention of fire accidents and specially to ensure that fire brigade staff are trained in the use of new equipment.
