Minister of State for AYUSH (Independent Charge) Shri Ramkishore ‘Nano’ Kawre has instructed the district officers of the AYUSH Department to ensure maximum public participation in the mass yoga practice on June 21, 2023, the International Day of Yoga, in the state.
Minister of State Kawre said that it is a matter of pride for Madhya Pradesh that the national level programme of International Yoga Day is going to be held in Jabalpur.
He said that there should be programmes of group yoga practice at all the district headquarters of the state according to the dignity.
Minister of State Kawre asked the district officials to coordinate with the Collector to ensure the grandeur of the programme. Principal Secretary Kalpana Srivastava, Commissioner Ayush Sonali Ponkshe Vayangankar and departmental officers were present in the meeting.
Special sessions will be held at historical and archaeological places
It was told in the meeting that on International Day of Yoga, there will be special sessions of mass yoga practice at places of historical and archaeological importance in the state. Instructions were given that the citizens should practice yoga at these places according to the protocol. It was told that the national level Yoga Day programme will be held at the Garrison Ground in Jabalpur.
Connect voluntary organisations too
Kawre asked the district officials to take the help of voluntary organisations on International Yoga Day. It was told that Shri Ramchandra Mission and Heartfulness Institute have started an Ekatm Abhiyan (integrated campaign) in every village panchayat with the help of Jan-Abhiyan Parishad. A programme has been fixed to connect one crore people with yoga on International Yoga Day in the state.
Instructions to pay attention to awareness and publicity
Through video conference, the Minister of State for AYUSH directed the district AYUSH officers to focus on awareness and publicity to connect the general public with yoga in the coming days.
He also asked to reach the preparations being made for International Yoga Day to the general public through the media and social media. This year the theme of the 9th International Yoga Day is “Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”.
