Floors of Satpura building where the fire broke out were used for establishment related work of 3 departments
The Departmental works related to the establishment of Tribal Welfare, Transport and Health Department were carried out in the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th floors of the Satpura Bhavan where the fire broke out. No work related to tender and procurement of any department is carried out.
The files and equipment of the Tribal Regional Development Office have been destroyed in the fire. As most of the work of this office is done online, no work will be affected. Very important documents were not maintained in the office. These documents remain in the administration. The documents of the establishment are kept in the commissioner’s office, which has a separate wing.
CM speaks to Union Home Minister Shah
Chouhan spoke to Home Minister Amit Shah over phone and informed him about the fire incident and sought necessary assistance.
CM speaks to Defense Minister Singh
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan discussed with Defense Minister Shri Rajnath Singh over telephone and sought help of Air Force to extinguish the fire. The Defense Minister has given instructions to the Air Force. Tonight Air Force AN-32 aircraft and MI-15 helicopters will reach Bhopal. These planes and helicopters will do the work of extinguishing the fire by pouring water from above on the Satpura building with buckets. Bhopal airport will remain open throughout the night.
