The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Additional Divisional Commissioner, Pune (Maharashtra) Dr. Anil Ganpatrao Ramod for demanding & accepting bribe of Rs.8 Lakh from the complainant.

Dr. Anil Ganpatrao Ramod, Additional. Divisional Commissioner, Pune Division, Pune & Arbitrator for Pune, Satara & Solapur Districts for NHAI.
A case was registered on a complaint against an Additional Divisional Commissioner, Pune Division, Pune(also Arbitrator for Pune, Satara & Solapur Districts for NHAI).
It was alleged that the Complainant was looking after the land acquisition law related cases of farmers from Satara & Solapur Districts.
It was further alleged that farmers from the villages were seeking higher compensation of their land and the Complainant was representing their cases for getting higher compensation before the Office of Additional Divisional Commissioner & also Arbitrator for Satara, Pune and Solapur Districts, as per the National Highways Act.
The accused had allegedly kept Complainant’s cases pending and when the Complainant approached him in this regard, he demanded undue advantage of 10% of the amount of the increased compensation. It was also alleged that the accused demanded Rs. 10 lakh from the Complainant for the increased compensation of around 1.25 crore(approx) and finally settled for Rs. 8 lakh.
CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red handed while demanding & accepting bribe of Rs.8 lakh. Searches were conducted at official & residential premises of accused at three locations in Pune which led to recovery of cash of Rs. Six Crore(approx); property related documents including 14 immovable properties in the name of self & family, Investment & bank account details and other incriminating documents.
The arrested accused will be produced tomorrow before the Competent Court at Shivajinagar, Pune(Maharashtra).
