Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that daughters should not be considered a burden but a boon that is why several schemes have been implemented in the state for women empowerment including Ladli Laxmi and Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana. Arrangements have also been made for reservation in panchayat and urban bodies and special exemption in the registry of immovable property in the name of women. Mukhyamantri Ladli Bahna Yojana has been implemented to make life easier for women.
Chouhan virtually participated in the mass marriage conventions under Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana at Ajaygarh in Panna district and Meghnagar and Rama in Jhabua district from CM’s residence office Samatva. 305 couples tied the nuptial knot in Ajaygarh, 458 in Meghnagar and 278 in Rama.
Chouhan blessed all the newly married couples and wished them a happy life.
He directed Panna and Jhabua Collectors to link the daughters getting married to the government schemes for which they are eligible.
Chouhan said that the newly married daughters will also be linked to the Mukhyamantri Ladli Bahna Yojana. Khajuraho MP VD Sharma and public representatives were present in the mass marriage ceremony held at Ajaygarh Panna.
The public representatives and family members of the brides and grooms were also present in the programmes of Janpad Panchayat Rama and Meghnagar of Jhabua district.
