In response to the instructions of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the Co-operative Department has told the banks that the day the amount of procurement is received in the bank’s account, it will be deemed to have been deposited in the concerned farmer’s account. Bank will not be able to charge any additional interest on this. Farmers will get the benefit of all the schemes from the date of receipt of the amount in the bank. On the instructions of Chief Minister Chouhan, the Co-operative Department has issued orders to this effect.

It is worth mentioning that in the last meeting of the State Cabinet, the issue came up that even after the money is received in the bank accounts, it is not deposited in the farmers’ accounts on time. Because of this, there is a possibility of farmers getting charged extra interest and becoming defaulters. On this, CM Chouhan directed the Co-operative Department to take quick action in this regard.
