Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that sons and daughters who tie the nuptial knot should buy household items according to their need and wish, for this purpose arrangements have been made to gift a cheque of Rs. 49,000 under the Mukhya Mantri Kanya Vivah Yojana.

The responsibility of arranging marriage is also borne by the state government so that the daughter may not be considered as a burden. Son and daughter are equal, it is necessary that they get equal respect and honour.

Chouhan virtually participated in the mass marriage programme of 235 couples in Ratlam district’s Manonia Mahadev, (Alot assembly constituency) from the state airport Bhopal. Member of Parliament Anil Firojiya, former MLA Deependra Singh Gehlot, Rajendra Singh Lunera, Yogendra Singh and public representatives participated in the marriage ceremony.

Chouhan gave blessings and best wishes to the bride and groom for a happy, joyous and blissful life. The Chief Minister hummed the song “Mama Ki Duayen Leti Ja – Ja Tujhko Sukhi Sansar Mile” at the time of farewell of the daughters.
