Congress senior leader and ex-CM Kamal Nath accuses Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan of not revealing details of doubling of farmers income in the state assembly despite the questions were asked during past sessions.

Further, Nath said Chouhan is vocal of doubling farmers income in Madhya Pradesh while speaking in a function held in Rewa on Monday in which the Prime Minister was present.

His (Chouhan) saying so is contrary to report of the standing committee on agriculture on farmers income in Madhya Pradesh which has decreased, Nath said.

On March 22, 2022, the Standing Committee on Agriculture presented its report in the Parliament and told that the monthly income of the farmers of Madhya Pradesh has decreased from Rs.9740 to Rs.8339, Nath said.

Congress senior leader and ex-CM Kamal Nath tweeted Chief Minister Shivraj ji, today (Monday) in the presence of the Prime Minister, you announced in Rewa that the income of farmers in Madhya Pradesh has more than doubled.

During your current tenure in the Madhya Pradesh Vidhansabha, the MLAs have asked many times questions regarding the doubling of farmers’ income, but your government did not tell about the doubling of farmers’ income even in answer to a single question, Nath said.

On March 22, 2022, the Standing Committee on Agriculture presented its report in the Parliament and told that the monthly income of the farmers of Madhya Pradesh has decreased from Rs.9740 to Rs.8339, Nath said.

I would like to know from you which report and which study is the basis on which you have claimed that farmers’ income has been more than doubled. Please make that report public, if the farmers of Madhya Pradesh accept that report as true, I will greet you, Nath said.

Because the truth is that you have made more than 34 lakh farmers of Madhya Pradesh defaulters. By stopping the loan waiver, you have tortured the farmers, Nath said.

You have exhausted the minimum support price bonus. Till date, you have not given compensation to the farmers who were victims of hailstorm and excessive rain. No one has been more anti-farmer Chief Minister than you in the history of Madhya Pradesh, Nath added.
