Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that taking into account the suggestions given by the experts, a proper budget for Madhya Pradesh will be prepared.
He said that the state budget will be prepared considering the priorities of the state. Emphasis will be laid on development and public welfare in the budget.
Chief Minister Chouhan was addressing on the presentation regarding preparation of state budget and review of the Union Budget 2023-24 by experts.
Members of Cabinet including Vishwas Sarang, Usha Thakur, OPS Bhadoria, Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains and senior officers were present. Other members of the Council of Ministers joined virtually.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that no stone will be left unturned to strengthen the state’s economy. He thanked the experts for giving suggestions for the state budget.
The Chief Minister said that the state is making rapid progress in various fields. Along with agriculture, attention is also being given to other sectors. The Union Budget has been appreciated in the country.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that the amount received in the budget from the Government of India will be put to the best use in the state. The suggestions of experts should be taken care of by the concerned departments. Our priority is to provide employment to the villagers in the village itself. This year an amount of more than Rs 48 thousand crore will be spent on infrastructure development. For this, the villagers and youth will be trained.

By transferring Rs one thousand per month to the accounts of the women of Sahariya, Baiga, Bharia tribes, there has been success in efforts to control malnutrition. The suggestions received in the Mahila Panchayat have been implemented. It will be our endeavor to take maximum advantage of the provisions in the budget of the Government of India. All departments should start workouts on this. The budget of the state will fulfill the resolutions of the Prime Minister. The upcoming budget will fulfill the basic needs and take the state to greater heights.
Prof. Sachin Chaturvedi said that a special review by economists on the Union Budget 2023-24 will play an important role in preparing the upcoming budget of the state. He said that Madhya Pradesh will make provisions in the budget with foresight. Madhya Pradesh is developing fast. The Government of India has given priority to fisheries in the budget. This should also be kept in mind in the budget of Madhya Pradesh. Presentation was given on the development of cities, agriculture and rural areas etc.
Dr. N.R. Bhanumurthy, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ambedkar School of Economics, Bangalore, Dr. Ajit Ranade, Chairman and Chief Economist, Aditya Birla Group, Prof. Shamika Ravi, former member of Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council and Prof. Sachin Chaturvedi, Vice President, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis gave a presentation. Suggestions were given by the experts to promote small scale industries, provision for MNREGA, increase employment, incentive amount, reduce financial deficit, increase private sector investment, improve health sector, make special arrangements for nutrition of women and children.
