Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan inaugurated the readymade garment unit set up by Gokaldas Export Private Limited in Acharpura industrial area of Bhopal. He said that the state government will extend full support to the industries, come and set up industries in Madhya Pradesh. CM Chouhan said that today is a providential day for this area, setting up a factory in just 16 months is no less than a miracle. Various types of garments will be manufactured in the garment unit, which will provide employment to more than 5 thousand people. He said that it is a matter of happiness that there will be more employment opportunities for sisters and daughters in garment units. CM expressed hope that employment opportunities would be made available to the local people by giving them necessary training.

Earlier, Chief Minister Chouhan offered worship at the Siddhivinayak temple located in the campus. He inaugurated the readymade garment unit by cutting the ribbon and unveiling the plaque amidst chanting of mantras. Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion Minister Rajvardhan Singh Dattigaon, Berasia MLA S Vishnu Khatri and senior officials including Shiv Ramakrishnan Ganapati and Prabhat Kumar Singh of Gokaldas Exports were present.

Referring to investment proposals worth more than 15 lakh crores received at the recently concluded Global Investors Summit in Indore, Chief Minister Chouhan called upon the industrialists to come and start work expeditiously in industrial areas as soon as they get land. He said that the textile industry is rapidly flourishing in Madhya Pradesh and the garments made here will be highly admired globally. He also called upon industrialists to provide training to women self-help groups.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that Gokaldas Garment has come from Bengaluru and has brought the gift of employment. He urged the company to train the youths so that they have a skilled work force. He hailed the company that they are employing 80 percent women in their industry. He asked the company to bring more investors here. Company’s MD Krishnan presented the first products made in the factory to Chief Minister Chouhan.

Interaction with women workers

Chief Minister Chouhan visited various units of the factory and took stock of the readymade garments being prepared. Mostly women were working in the unit. He expressed happiness over giving employment to a large number of sisters and daughters and received information about the work from the women workers. The Chief Minister also wished the women workers for a bright future.
