The way India served humanity during the Kovid crisis by providing Kovid vaccine to the whole world, in the same way, through G-20, India will become the voice of the world to solve the challenges and problems world is facing today. Inclusive growth, inclusive finance and equity are the biggest needs of the day. The Mantra given by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the importance of life style for the environment will be taken to every corner of the world through the G-20. Keeping in mind the poor population of the world, more attention should be given to renovation and deployment. India will create a new development agenda for the world.
In view of the G-20 Summit to be held in India, the speakers kept this point prominently in the plenary session on the topic “Inclusive growth” at the Kushabhau Thackeray Convention Center today in the special Think-20 program. The session was chaired by Prof. By Elizabeth Sidiropoulos, Institute of International Affairs, South Africa. In a concluding statements, he said that the world today needs global financial architecture, innovation and inclusive growth. The G-20 Summit being chaired by India will definitely fulfill these objectives.
Director of the Center of Sustainable Development, Columbia University, USA Jaffre de Sache joined online as the keynote speaker. Prof. Sachs said that a global financial architecture is needed to address the economic challenges facing the worlds today. India can play an important role in this work. Development Alternatives Institute, Delhi’s Prof. Ashok Khosla said that G-20 is the platform through which we can solve the problems the world facing today such as terrorism, pollution, lifestyle, climate change, extinction of species, recession etc. We have to give “Equitable Green Future” to the world. The prosperity of the whole world and people is our goal. We have to give stable livelihood to all and at the same time revive the environment. Instead of big industries, more jobs will have to be created through small industries.
Abul Kalam Azad of CVF organization who came from Bangladesh said through virtual medium that today the world will have to adopt the Climate Prosperity Plan. It is a nature based scheme which has been adopted by Bangladesh. Through this, while conserving and promoting nature, employment opportunities are created for maximum number of people. The scheme fulfills the G-20 concept of One Earth – One Family – One Future. All the G-20 countries should prepare a “Climate Prosperity” plan for their respective countries.
Thomas Pogge, Professor of Philosophy and International Affairs, Yale University USA, appreciated Prime Minister Modi’s global vision, Indian way of life for environment, innovation and planning. He stressed on the need for creating an “International Green Fund” and inclusive finance. Mr. Justin Vayse, Director General of the Paris Peace Forum, virtually highlighted the Fiscal Budget, Financial Structure and Climate Content.
David White, Senior Political Adviser, British High Commission in India, congratulated the Government of India for the commendable work being done on G-20 issues in India, both at the official and non-official levels. First Secretary of Geneva, Akindeji Adenipo said that the world will become the voice of India in the resolution of G-20 issues. It is necessary to remove the lack of inclusive development in the world. India’s role in this work will be important. He praised Prime Minister Shri Modi for providing the Covid vaccine to the world.
Jawaharlal University New Delhi Prof. Gulshan Sachdeva said that India will create a new development agenda for the world. India has always been the voice of the world. In Global financial reforms and facing the issues of climate change, geopolitical instability, recession, India’s presidency of G-20 will be important. India is making the summit inclusive at the national level, with everyone’s cooperation it will be made inclusive at the global level as well.
