Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said the BJP government took many steps for the welfare of tribal communities.
The government installed statues of Rani Kamlapati ji in Bhopal and Tantya Mama ji in Indore, while the Congress did the work of installing the statues of few people and of one family, he said in the House given winter season of the MP Assembly.
The college in Chhindwara is named after Gond Raja Shankar Shah, he said.

Chouhan hit out at the Congress for attempt to take action against the BJP MLAs and leaders by going against the rules with a sense of revenge during tenure of previous Congress government.
The Congress conspired to destroy properties, shops were razed down, Chouhan said.
The cases were filed against many of our workers (BJP activists), he said.
We too took action, but on the goons, bullies and mafias, Chouhan said.
The Chief Minister appealed the people to be careful with the new variant of #COVID19 BF.7.
He suggested the people to avoid going to crowded places and start using the mask.
He called for taking booster dose.
The quality of the pipeline for irrigation was not to the set standard during the Congress government. The terms and conditions were changed as well, he said. Rs.2000 crore were released as advance without receiving the material used in the pipeline distribution system, Chouhan said.
