Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that we all together should accept this challenge that no child will remain underweight in the state in the coming one year. Every Anganwadi worker and helper should consider it their personal duty and not just a government job, to provide adequate nutrition to every child and woman in their area.
Women and Child Development is not just a department, it is my own family. The all-round development of women and children and the hard work of the field staff of this department and the cautiousness and awareness of the departmental officers-employees for the improvement of social, economic, health and nutritional status are important in the development of society and the state.
Today’s programme is a programme on behalf of the people of the state to honour the services of the department and reward the committed workers and employees. Anganwadi workers, assistants and supervisors will be honoured every year by the state government. Along with this, they will also be awarded for best work every year at the district level.
Chief Minister Chouhan was addressing the guidance, encouragement and motivation program of the field staff of women and child development.

The Chief Minister inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp at Kushabhau Thackeray Auditorium. All those present stood up in honour of the Madhya Pradesh anthem that was presented by the children of Bal Bhavan.
Chief Minister Chouhan distributed prizes to Anganwadi workers, helpers, supervisors and officials for excellent work. All the district offices of the state were connected virtually with the programme and departmental officers and employees also participated virtually.
State government is committed to eliminate all reasons for considering daughters as burden
Chief Minister Chouhan said that it is the aim of my life to give rights to every mother, sister and daughter. I am committed to equalize the sex ratio in the state. The desire for a son has done a lot of injustice to daughters. Our government is committed to eliminate all the reasons for considering daughters as a burden. At the time of 2011 census, the child sex ratio of the state was 919. The sex ratio at birth increased from 927 to 956 as per NHFS-5. Every possible cooperation of the society will be taken in the implementation of women and child development schemes. Public participation is being encouraged in Adopt an Anganwadi. The society is also ready to cooperate more and more for the anganwadis. In Bhopal, people have given a lot of material for the Anganwadis and Indore has received all possible financial support.
State government will pay fees of Ladli Laxmis for admission in institutions for higher education
Giving information about the provisions of Ladli Laxmi Yojna-2, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the fees of Ladli Laxmis who take admission in engineering, medical, CLAT and other institutions for higher education would be paid by the state government. All possible help and opportunities will be extended to daughters to move ahead in life.
Security as well as rights for women
Chief Minister Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh is the first state where 50 percent reservation has been given to women in urban bodies and Panchayat Raj institutions.
The result of this is that now, men of the family are getting recognition on the basis of women who do not cross the threshold of the house. Now women are handling law and order by servicing in police department.
We are full of happiness and it seems that the spirit of women empowerment is being implemented in real form.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that the state government is committed to provide women a safe environment. In many cases, those who cast an evil eye on our daughters in the state have been sentenced to death. The guilty will not be spared under any circumstances.
Government is responsible for taking care of orphans
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that during Covid pandemic, the state government took the responsibility of the children in the state. Madhya Pradesh was the first state in the country to implement the Chief Minister’s Covid Assistance Scheme for children who has lost their parents.
Eliminate possibilities of irregularities in departmental activities
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that women and child development is a very sensitive department.
Anganwadi workers and helpers are doing an important job of making life easier by helping women get antenatal check-ups and motivating them to get all immunizations.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, a provision of Rs 16 thousand has been made for the health and nutrition of pregnant women. We have to move towards eliminating the possibilities of irregularities in departmental activities. It should be ensured that all activities are monitored systematically and consciously.
CM to interact with Anganwadi workers and assistants every three months
Chief Minister Chouhan said that programmes will be organized every 3-4 months to meet Anganwadi workers and assistants, interact with them and seek their suggestions. Along with this, suggestions regarding departmental activities will be invited and their implementation will be ensured with a view to improve the system.
Director, Women and Child Development Dr. Ramrao Bhonsle informed that 92 thousand 153 Anganwadis and 453 projects are operational in the state. More than 1 lakh 90 thousand officers and employees working in the department are associated with this programme through webcast and other virtual medium. Departmental officers including Additional Chief Secretary Women and Child Development Shri Ashok Shah were present.
CM Shri Chouhan honours by presenting citations
Chief Minister Chouhan presented the first, second and third rank citation to District Programme Officer Alirajpur Shivkali Warvade, Dhirendra Singh Jadaun of Guna and Arvind Kumar Upadhyay of Datia respectively.
At the Project Officer level, Ankita Patidar of Jaora-Ratlam was awarded the first rank citation, Mukesh Bhuria of Bhabra-Alirajpur second, and Sandeep Ruhal of Ashta-2 Sehore with the third rank citation.
At the Supervisor level, Anusuiya Vajpayi from Sector Chandwahi of Sidhi was given first rank, Sangeeta Mavi of Alirajpur Sector Temaji was awarded second and Preeti Yadav of Khitauli sector of Bhind was awarded the third rank citation. Ten Anganwadi workers and ten Sahayikas were also presented with citations.
Chief Minister Chouhan also presented a citation to Vandana Singh Parihar, the administrator of Indore’s One Stop Center.
