Art of Living founder and spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar have faced major embarrassing situation during an event in Srinagar, as several attendants in the conference raised pro-freedom slogans and Zakir Musa slogans, where we walked out of his much-touted peace meet ‘Paigam-e-Mohabbat’.

According to our sources, the conference was organized by lesser-known J&K Coordination Committee.

The spiritual guru who is trying to resolve the Babri issue between Hindus and Muslims, said that he got an invitation by common people of Kashmir. Sri Sri requested people of Kashmir to forget the past feuds and think of a bright future.

“If New Delhi is ready to give me a role vis-à-vis Kashmir I will play it. Wherever and whenever New Delhi requires my service I am ready to offer it,” Guruji said while addressing a press conference here in Srinagar city.

He also said I have no connection with BJP.  While responding to a question he also said that killings of humans should stop. “Whether a civilian or soldier get killed, it is painful,” he said.

He also said that we want peace to be restored in Kashmir forever. “If there is injustice, I will stand for that. We should forget the past and think about future. We should heal the wounds. Kashmir is the issue of human suffering,” he said.

The event which was organised at SKICC in Srinagar in Kashmir, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar had to cut his speech short after the participants alleged that they were brought there for some other purposes. Some of them even raised pro-Pakistan and pro-freedom slogans and left the venue in a huff.

Meanwhile, AIP supremo and MLA Langate Er. Rasheed named this incident at SKICC as an eye opener for New Delhi.

“Before asking Kashmiris to forget past Sri Sri should have advised New Delhi also to forget its arrogance of past and come forward for a realistic and honourable settlement to resolve Kashmir dispute. Kashmiris would have appreciated had Sri Sri Ravi Shankar raised voice for Kashmiris who have been butchered by security forces and other central agencies since 1989, at various forums all over India.” Er. Rasheed said in a statement.
