Public Works Minister Gopal Bhargava has said that to control road accidents in the state, the roads of the state will be freed from black spots in the coming one year.
He said this at the International Seminar on Road Safety: Current Scenario Way Forward, organised by the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways at Brilliant Convention Centre, Indore.
He said that the government and the society will have to make concerted efforts to control road accidents.
Public Works Minister Bhargava said that we want to create a system in which traffic rules are followed more strictly. We have to think seriously to avoid accidents.
He said that the discussion held today would help us to reach the perfect place in road traffic reforms.
Minister Bhargava said that a single department of Public Works will not be able to prevent accidents.
All departments have to make efforts for this. The general public will have to become aware about traffic rules, traffic safety, only then good results will be visible.
He said that death in road accidents is a matter of concern. That is why it is necessary that we all think about this important matter.
The Secretary General of Indian Road Congress, S.K. Nirmal, Vice President R.K. Mehra, Engineer-in-Chief MP PWD Narendra Kumar, Project Director G.P. Mehra, Technical Member of National Highway Mahavir Singh, Indian Road Congress Vice President Pranab Kumar, Chairman Committee B.K. Chouhan and Local Organising Secretary R.K. Joshi were also present. International and national level experts and 120 delegates from different states have been invited by I.R.C. in the seminar. 130 representatives of different departments of the districts of Madhya Pradesh also participated.
A total of 17 technical presentations were presented in the two day seminar.
