New Delhi: Most of the people are unaware of the love letter written by the great scientist Albert Einstein which he wrote to a lady 20-years younger than him. He wrote that letter at the age of 42 years. In 1921, he wrote this letter to a girl named Picini Einstein.
Picini used to live in the neighborhood of Einstein’s sister in Florence, Italy. This love letter written by Albert Einstein 97 years ago was auctioned in Israel’s capital Jerusalem for Rs 4 lakhs.
How he met with Picini
Einstein met her in Florence, Italy. This meeting took place when Einstein visited his sister’s house there. Einstein’s sister used to live in the building, where Picini use totreside. She herself was a scientist. Einstein was fascinated by her intelligence and beauty.
What was written in love letter?
After returning to America, Einstein wrote this love letter to Picini in which he expressed his feelings. He wrote, ‘This letter is for a scientific researcher, with whom I have been a friend for two days.’ Einstein expressed his desire to meet Picini again in the letter. Picini also wanted to meet him, but she was hesitant to do so. She could not decide whether to meet or not, and later she rejected the proposal.
